Please do not send your dog's medical records or any information you would not want in an email — we never need them to solve a problem with the app.
PawTrial is a record-keeping tool for dog owners running a veterinarian-recommended food elimination trial. It keeps daily symptom check-ins, meals and slip-ups, treatments, photos and reintroductions in one place, and turns them into a report you can share with your vet. It does not diagnose anything and is not a substitute for veterinary care — see the Terms of Use.
Open the app, add your dog, then start a trial from the home screen or from Settings → "Start a new trial". After that, record a check-in each day: symptom scores, meals, any exposures and any treatments. The more consistent the daily entries, the more useful the report at the end.
Go to Settings → "Remove sample data". This deletes the demonstration dog and its records so you can start a real trial with a clean slate.
Everything is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. PawTrial has no accounts and no server of its own, so there is no cloud sync and no server-side backup we can restore from. If you delete the app, the records go with it. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
Records travel with a full device-to-device transfer or an encrypted device backup, because the app's data is included in it. They are not transferred by simply installing PawTrial on a new phone and signing in — there is nothing to sign in to. PDF, CSV and JSON exports are shareable copies for you and your vet; they cannot be imported back into the app.
Check that the daily check-in reminder is switched on in Settings, and that notifications are allowed for PawTrial in your device's system settings. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device, so they also stop while the device is in a focus or do-not-disturb mode.
The free version covers one dog, one active trial, up to 5 photos, daily check-ins and a summary of your progress. PawTrial Pro adds multiple dogs and trials, up to 2,000 photos with side-by-side comparison, guided reintroductions, advanced charts, custom reminders, the complete PDF report and CSV/JSON export.
Settings → PawTrial Pro → "Restore purchases", while signed into the same Apple account used for the original purchase. Restoring brings back your Pro access; it cannot bring back tracking records you deleted from the device.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are managed in your Apple account. Use Settings → "Manage subscription" in the app, or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and never renews.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If the reason was a problem with the app, we would still like to hear about it so we can fix it.
Delete individual records at any time, or remove everything with Settings → "Delete all PawTrial data". Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data. Neither cancels an App Store subscription — do that in your Apple account.
No. There is no analytics or behavioral tracking, no advertising and no selling of data. Your records and photos are never uploaded. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
We can help with the app, but we cannot advise on your dog's diet, symptoms, medication or test results. Those questions belong with your veterinarian, who prescribed the trial and can interpret what you have recorded.
